Owen Jacob Powell, 20, passed away on May 22nd 2019 in Chinook Montana.  Owen was born on June 27, 1998 to Zane and Jeannie Powell in Havre Montana.  He attended Zurich Elementary and then graduated from Chinook High School in 2016. In High school he played football and was part of the 2015 State Championship team. He also loved to wrestle and won various titles.   He then went to get his Associates Degree in Applied Science at Helena College.  Owen loved to weld, fabricate, work with his hands and was certified in all welding types. Owen was fisherman, hunter, gold panner, chaser of blondes, and cared for his pet fish. He also enjoyed eating, and strawberries were one of his favorites.  Owen was an outgoing, friendly, positive, willing to give the shirt off his back sorta of man.  He was selfless, kind hearted, adventurous and fun loving.  His big smile shone on anyone he talked to and everyone who knew him loved him.  Our memories of him are too numerous to write. 1. Such a fine young man that is gone, too soon!
Fred and I were so impressed with him , as he took our “One and Only” blonde, Grace, to Big Sandy’s prom in the spring of 2017. He attended the prom after a long morning of dirt biking with his main man, Garrison, who also had a date for the same prom. He seemed to enjoy being busy. He was so proud of his truck and all the metal fabrication he had done to it.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family!
Rest in God’s loving arms and in His peace.

  2. My heart breaks for your loss. I hope time helps in remembering happy memories. Please know you are in my prayers ❤️

  3. My son Jake has told me what a great friend he was to everyone. I am truly so sorry for your loss! No parent should have to bury a child. May he Rest In Peace.

  4. My heart goes out to you during this horribly/painful time. No matter what people say, time doesn’t make the pain go away but it does lessen it. I didn’t know Owen personally (my loss), but after reading about his life, I saw what an amazing young man he was. He accomplished so much in his 20 years. You must be so proud to have raised such an amazing young man. Please don’t be angry with him, I’m sure his intentions weren’t to hurt you, he just was in a bad place ( as I once was). Please forgive him. Savour and cherish the memories you made with Owen. Share these memories. This is what will keep him alive in your heart forever and ever.
I hope I haven’t over stepped any boundaries. Even though we haven’t been properly introduced I know of you and your family. I just wanted to reach out during this difficult time, to let you know (as a mother)my heart goes out to you. I will continue to pray for Owen and you (his family). Even though you don’t see Owen’s bodily presence, he is here., surrounding you with love. God Bless.
